About Us

Legacy Youth Ministry
Welcome to the Legacy Youth Ministry website!  We hope that you find this webpage useful in finding out more information about the youth ministry here at Legacy.  Our youth program is made up of about 150 teens in 7 – 12 grades.  Jason Brown is our youth minister.  Click here to read more about Jason.  Here at Legacy we are very passionate about the Spiritual development of our teenagers.  Our program seeks to call teenagers to a deeper relationship with Jesus through spiritual development, Christian fellowship, and accountability.  Our purpose is to share Christ with all teens as we connect through faith, challenging each other to grow and find our God-given gifts while we honor and serve Him through our everyday lives.

Sunday Morning Bible Class
On Sunday mornings our Bible class time begins at 9:00am and the high school teens meet in The Rock (the youth center) located upstairs on the North-West corner of our building (behind the gym).  Our junior high students meet on Sunday mornings for Bible class downstairs in the junior high classroom on the South-West corner of our family-life center (the gym).  Our Sunday morning Bible class is just that – a Bible class.  We spend 45 minutes to an hour studying God’s Word in great detail and applying it to our lives.  We believe very strongly in the teaching and application of God’s Word to our teens.

Sunday Evening Small Groups
Sunday evenings our teens are in our church-wide small groups church ministry with their families as our entire church family meets in homes on Sunday evenings.  If you would like more information about our small groups church ministry, please click here to be redirected to the small groups website.

Wednesday Evening Class
Wednesday evenings we open The Rock at 4:00pm for teenagers to come and have fellowship with one another until class, which begins at 7:00pm.  Students can play XBOX 360 or Wii, or they can sit around and visit or work on homework.  We also have a concession stand that serves snacks, candies, sodas, energy drinks, pizza, and coffees that opens up at 5:30pm on Wednesday nights as well.  We utilize this time to spend hanging out and getting to know each other before starting our class time.  Our Wednesday night classes typically begin with a time of worship with all 7-12 graders together, then splitting junior high and high school into age specific smaller groups to discuss and apply Biblical principals into our everyday lives.

Family Ministry & Volunteers
We believe very strongly in a family model of youth ministry at Legacy.  We have many adult volunteers within our program that are parents of our students.  We invite parents to be a part of teaching classes, leading devotionals, going on Mission Trips, serving on retreats, and chaperoning various events.  We believe that the Bible plainly teaches that families are the primary source of Biblical training and Spiritual development.  Our goal is to equip parents with the tools necessary to help raise their children to be strong spiritual leaders.

Even thought we believe so strongly in a family model of youth ministry, we also utilize other members of our church family as volunteers within our ministry.  We have volunteers from young marrieds, to young families, to empty nest-ers, to grandparents connecting with students and helping run this ministry.  If you have a passion for teenagers and would like to get involved, we would love to have you with us!
