Every Family in God's Service

Legacy Church of Christ wishes to add an experienced man who will help us fulfill our purpose of involving every family in God’s service.  We are a growing congregation of 1100 members in North Richland Hills, TX., seeking to expand its ministry team.  This is not a preaching position, rather one to complement the existing team of pulpit, youth, children and deaf ministries.

ASSOCIATE MINISTER JOB DESCRIPTION
Encouraging Every Family to be in God’s Service

1.  Strengthening Families

• Oversee events promoting fellowship and unity throughout the church
• Have an awareness of attendance/membership records in order to seek out and improve weaknesses (welcome new members/keep up with current members falling away)
• Provide pastoral guidence for members and/or identify professional counselors that can provide proper assistance

2.  Developing the Body of Christ

• Communicate with leaders of the Adult Education Ministry, College Ministry, Youth Ministry, and Children’s Ministry to support and encourage these ministries
• Organize and coordinate other various ministries (including Small Groups and Hospital and Home Visitation)
  • Ongoing assessment of current ministries
  • Encourage new ministries as needed
  • Recruit leaders
  • Foster communication between ministries
• Encourage the body to be involved
• Coordinate outreach efforts to the community

3.  Serve as Key Resource for Elders

• Participate in regular study/reflection sessions with Elders
• Team with Elders in leading theological reflection in the church
• Collaborate with Elders in managing pastoral or congregational crises
• Share his continuing education opportunities and resources with the Elders
• Serve as link between Elders and ministry staff

4.  Serve as Coordinator for Office Staff and Ministers

• Work to promote collaborative relationships within ministry staff team
• Establish his own leadership credibility within the team
• Coordinate/facilitate staff meetings
• Coordinate strategic planning
• Facilitate staff development & team building
