Truth & Dare

TRUTH & DARE

Our Wednesday Nights this summer are called Truth & Dare. We will be talking about the Truth coming straight from the Word, more specifically Matthew 5-7. Each week we will have a "Dare" in which we are challenged to live out that truth in our lives during that week. Our teaching staff this summer will vary from the youth ministers, interns, and other awesome adults! Begins @7P weekly on Wednesdays!

  • Calling of the Disciples = (June 5)
  • Beatitudes = (June 12)
  • Love your Enemies = (June 19)
  • June 26th Game Night/Fun Night July 3rd
  • Treasures in Heaven/Don’t Worry = (July 10)
  • Fulfillment/You’ve heard it Said… Murder/Adultery = (July 17)
  • Retaliation/Turn the Other Cheek = (July 24)
  • Father who sees in Secret = (July 31)
  • The Narrow Gate = (August 7)
  • The Sand and the Rock = (August 14)

What’s So Reckless About…

The Beatitudes? Believing, striving for, and accepting the blessings of Jesus

Loving your Enemies? We are supposed to crush our enemies. Justice for all!

Storing up Treasures in Heaven? You “need” money. Two masters are necessary.

Not Worrying? We gotta have our future planned. Lack of trust in God causes uncertainty

What Jesus says about Murder? Reconciliation can be messy and discouraged.

What Jesus says about Adultery? Cutting off a part of your life will cause pain.

What Jesus says about Oaths? Our word alone is no longer worthy.

An Eye for an Eye? It welcomes more pain and loss.

Following the Law? Even setting aside the “least of these commands” shadows the Kingdom.

Giving to the Needy? If done in secret, you don’t advance your public image.

Praying the way Jesus Does?  Asking just for “Daily Bread” doesn’t prepare for the future.

Fasting in Secret? You get no holy status upgrade.

Choosing the Narrow Gate? Who doesn’t like to take the easy way out?

Building your house on the Sand?

JUKED HS FALL RETREAT 2012

Our HS Fall Retreat will be at Texoma Youth Camp on October 12-14th.  We will spend the weekend getting away from the busyness of our lives and focusing on how we live as Christians.  The idea is “Connecting Jesus in our everyday lives”.  What if we looked at every situation, every opportunity, every struggle, and every word we speak as an opportunity to follow and be like Jesus?  How would the world around us change?  Please be a part of this weekend!

To register click here or   text   "!register juked" to 775-237-4480
