Valley View - Sanger Area Tornado

By now you’ve likely heard about the terrible EF-3 tornado that ripped through the above areas taking 7 lives, injuring many and destroying many homes.

We have decided to try to help.

We are well aware this is the third, rather sequential disaster where we’ve been involved and asked for your help. You may be getting a little weary of this, sorry, we are too. I’m  sure this angst pales in comparison to the many suffering in the affected areas.  Even closer to home we’ve known we’ve had many weather problems.  Needs are rather overwhelming.

What can you do to help?

First and foremost pray for all those affected.  Next, contribute to the Disaster Relief Fund in the usual ways or write a check. We are partnering with the Sanger Church of Christ. Third, go to the affected area(s) with our small and aging Disaster Team. We need younger folks!  A day trip is scheduled for Saturday, June 8. Meet in the church parking lot at 6:45 a.m. A church-wide recruitment email has already been sent.  Wear long pants and boots and bring gloves. Bring water and a non perishable sack lunch. With a heat index of a 100° forecast, we will all need to be very careful - hydrate, take breaks, etc.   These working conditions are not for everyone so don’t feel bad if you think this is not a fit for you!

If you are already on our DR Team, CCB emails will be forthcoming so nothing else for you to do.  If you want to go on the trip but aren’t on our Team, text David Read at 469-890-5608 and he will add you to the emails - we need you!

For Him and for those in the affected areas, thank you,
Legacy Disaster Relief Team
